Sliding supports of pipe-lines support the pipe-line but do not prevent its shifting motions at temperature changes. Sliding supports have to absorb vertical load from the weight of the loaded pipe-line. They provide the possibility of thermal displacement of the pipe-line in the direction of its axis and in the across-track direction.
